Grand Prize Chili Powder
Named for Dr. Ray Calhoun, Grand Prize Chili Powder is a blend of the three chili powders he used in his Grand Prize recipe. Dr. Ray was a legend, a pioneer and an advocate in the competitive chili world and there won't be another like him. We were honored to be his chauffer, his spice mixer and most of all, his friend while he cooked chili. This is a coarsely ground blend with heat, salt and full flavor. We like to use it up front to allow it plenty of time to break down during the cooking process. Dr. Ray loved to use his blends with Dixon Medium Hot and RT Original.
Scoville Heat Units: 1,500-2,500
Ingredients: Ground chili peppers, cumin, salt, garlic and spices.
